Designing for technology change

Introduction

European Energy develops, constructs, and operates wind and solar farms as well as large-scale green energy storage. They have constructed more than 1.3 GW of wind and solar power, which is equal to the electricity consumption of more than 800 000 households.

Through our long-standing collaboration with European Energy, the Bio PV-Solar Energy on Drained Land project stands out with its unique impact potential on biodiversity. The project aims to build solar panel parks in lowland areas to protect nature against traditional farming’s spraying and fertilizing. Solar panels protect wildlife, allow vegetation to grow, and safeguard the passage of smaller mammals.

Challenge

We were approached by European Energy early in the planning phase of the Bio PV-Solar Energy on Drained Land project. The task presented to us was to be the lead provider of visuals. Conceptual visuals to site-specific visuals were developed and used throughout to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Solution

We at KIRT x THOMSEN love to be part of projects from the beginning. The visuals we provided are the product of close collaboration from early concept to final project presentation.

If you look closely, you can spot how we have managed to merge real site photography with 3D visuals.
