Introduction

The goal of the FUSE project is to inform and accelerate investments in urban charging infrastructure by providing solutions and advice to municipalities and grid operators for efficient and smart charging infrastructure.

Project partners: DTU Wind and Energy Systems, COWI, Danishe-Mobility, DTU Management, FDEL via Elbilkonsulenten, Municipality of Frederiksberg, Radius Elnet, Spirii and Tomorrow.

Challenge

We have been part of FUSE project from the very beginning in 2020. Inspired by our contribution to the DTU-led project in Copenhagen Nordhavn, the FUSE project partners requested our advice in planning and developing animations and visualizations to support the project management and external stakeholder communication.

Solution

We invite you to visit the FUSE project website to explore some of the many visuals that have been developed to enrich the project. What becomes very visible in this project is how we achieved to incorporate visualizations that give the experience of zoom-in and zoom-out. Communicating the full scale of the project and specific areas of the system.

Result

Pulling on our years of experience with mobility and project involving multiple partners we helped the FUSE partnership achieve more clarity on the purpose of the project and desired outputs. Our methods of facilitating and systems thinking have been essential in creating a shared understanding and focused working process.

It is early days for the project outputs to be evaluated, but we have throughout this three-year project received constructive and positive feedback for our teams’ contribution. Also, several FUSE project partners have chosen to reach out to us at KIRT x THOMSEN asking for our assistance with other of their projects.
